Our journey

Our first design, in 2010, was an experiment: could we redesign the classic wool coat? We made four hundred for family and friends. The response was overwhelming – but something more important happened along the way.

We found that by simplifying, we could improve on a classic. Outdated materials were replaced with more functional and more sustainable ones. The volume was reshaped for comfort and movement. We kept refining until the essence of the coat came through. That became the standard for the first Scandinavian Edition jacket, and we have been refining ever since.

The process became our design ethos, Refined Function®. It guides everything we do, with one aim: functional, beautiful clothing that is available to everyone. It has found its people well beyond Scandinavia – from Tokyo to San Francisco.

When you wear a Scandinavian Edition jacket you may not notice the details, but you feel them. Protection, mobility and comfort, combined with a simplicity that lasts.

Only when a design meets all of this does it carry the Scandinavian Edition marque – a mark of quality drawn from the Nordic flags and the design tradition we build on.
