How to read these temperatures

Ratings are a guide for an average person moving at a normal pace.

  • You run cold? Use the switch above, or plan on a mid-layer.
  • Dress the whole body. Cold feet, hands or a bare neck will make you feel cold in any jacket.
  • Damp feels colder. Humid coastal air and wind feel several degrees colder than dry cold.

Probably too warm

Above +5° the insulation works against you. A lighter jacket – or a vest – is the better pick.

How Does It Fit?

Shelter II fits true to size and is designed with a regular fit, offering a classic, structured silhouette with straight lines through the body. Compared to our fitted styles, it provides more room through the chest and torso, making it comfortable to wear with heavier layers underneath.

Choose your usual size if you want a regular, easy-to-layer fit. If you prefer a closer, more streamlined look, you may consider sizing down.

How we measure

All measurements are taken flat on the outside of the garment. They don't account for the insulation inside, so the space inside the jacket is slightly smaller.

  • 1/2 Chest: measured 2 cm below the armhole.
  • Sleeve Length: from the high point shoulder (HPS) to the end of the sleeve.
  • Center Back Length: at the back, from where the hood or collar joins the body to the hem.
