Why we only use PFC-free water repellency

Per- and polyfluorinated chemicals (PFCs) are man-made and do not occur in nature. They belong to a larger group of synthetic chemicals, PFAS, and have long been used in outdoor products because they repel water so well.

The problem is that they hardly break down. PFCs build up in soil, water and wildlife, and end up in people through food and drinking water. Some have been linked to health risks, including cancer and effects on the immune and reproductive systems.

PFCs are usually described by the number of carbon atoms they contain, such as C6 or C8. Our jackets use a C0 DWR treatment – 100% free of PFCs.
