Out of Office in Lofoten

Leave the routine behind this summer.

This week, we traded office hours, meetings, and screen time for fresh sea air, dramatic landscapes, and a slower pace in Lofoten.

Together, Marthe, Eira, Emma, and Lovise — we spent a few days in the north embracing the simple things: good conversations, breathtaking nature, and time to be fully present. For Eira and Emma, it was their first time experiencing Lofoten, while Marthe, who grew up nearby, looked forward to sharing the beauty of the north through local eyes.

There’s something special about a girls’ trip — filled with laughter, spontaneous stops, endless conversations, and the kind of moments that turn into the best memories.

Staying at the beautiful Lynvær Lodge, it didn’t take long before we forgot about the clock. Daily routines were replaced by something softer and more instinctive. We turned our days upside down, living by the sun instead of the schedule.

With good music filling the car and endless roads ahead, we spent hours exploring every corner of Lofoten, discovering breathtaking views around every turn — from dramatic peaks and open sea to charming fishing villages.

One of the highlights was heading out on a fishing trip in search of a proper Lofoten cod. Emma struck gold on her very first attempt — after only a few seconds, she had a 5.6 kg cod on the line. The catch later became a homemade fish soup, prepared fresh on the boat. Simple ingredients, unhurried moments, and a meal shared together.

Some of the most memorable moments came late at night, chasing the midnight sun. Long evenings turned into even longer nights as we hiked to peaks like Reinebringen and Hoven, with golden light stretching endlessly across the landscape.

Nearly 2,000 stone steps lead the way to Reinebringen. The climb is steep and demanding, but every step feels worth it as Lofoten’s iconic landscape gradually reveals itself. At the top, we soaked in the breathtaking views as fog slowly rolled in, wrapping itself around the mountains and transforming the landscape into something almost surreal. For Eira and Emma, experiencing Lofoten for the first time, it felt like the perfect finale to an unforgettable trip.

We experienced a little bit of everything when it came to the weather – sunshine, wind, rain, and everything in between. But one thing stayed constant: having a jacket that worked for it all. The Veil II handled every condition, from boat rides to mountain hikes.

For us, out of office is not only about stepping away from work - it’s about creating space for new impressions, inspiration, and presence.

Sometimes the best ideas come when you step away.
