Born in Norway and raised on the sunlit coast of Portugal, Joackim Guichard has built his life around the rhythm of the ocean. Today he lives on Madeira, a rugged volcanic island, where his Scandinavian roots meet a life of travel, exploration and creative work.
He is the twin brother of fellow ambassador Luca Guichard and shares his deep connection to the sea – but the path is his own. Joackim follows the seasons and the swells around the world, looking for good waves and stories worth telling.
Behind the camera he works on the same instinct, with an eye for composition and light. He captures the moments that pass quickly – from glassy dawn sessions to the raw power of a stormy break – and uses photography and film to share the places he visits.
